The seabirds’ temporal and spatial occurrences change sizably over time, both from season to season and from year to year. Mapping data is therefore only valid for a limited amount of time. For coastal populations, the data is normally considered to be outdated after ten years. Therefore, one of SEAPOP’s main goals is to update the seabird distribution data for all Norwegian sea areas. In the SEAPOP data portal, our most recent distribution data for the seabird populations is presented in tables, maps, and graphs.
